After purchasing your refill kit for hp ink cartridges and want to
refill your cartridge for the first time, you must first follow these
two preparation steps:
Preparation Step 1: Using the point of a pen, push the cap covering each of the three refill holes on top of the cartridge into the body of the cartridge.
Preparation Step 2: Using the syringe and needles supplied in your refill kit, push the cap deeper into the body of the cartridge to expose the underlying sponge.
Once you have removed the cartridge cover, you are ready to refill your cartrige. Use the following steps on how to replace HP ink into cartridges:
Step 1: Choose the first color you wish to refill, remove the refill bottle cap, and attach the syringe (included in your refill kit) into the top of the bottle.
Step 2: Place the cartridge body on a tissue. A tissue is included in your refill kit.
Step 3: Insert the refill needle into the appropriate color refill hole in the top of the cartridge. Make sure to angle the needle toward the injection nozzles at the front of the cartridge. Slowly and gently squeeze the ink refill bottle to force ink into the cartridge. If done to quickly, ink will mix throughout the print head. According to InkTec, the refill kit manufacturer, you should only use 10-15 ml of ink per refill.
Step 4: When ink is visible at the top of the refill hole, stop squeezing the bottle and remove the refill needle. Make sure to turn the bottle upward so ink does not spill out. Be careful not to mix inks on top of the cartridge.
Step 5: Repeat Steps 1-4 for each color you wish to refill. Keep in mind that your ink cartridge will use different color inks at different rates, depending on your printing habits. As you refill make sure to take note of the amount of ink in each well and refill the appropriate amount.
Step 6: Using a soft tissue or cotton swab, clean any foreign materials or excess ink from the nozzles.
Step 7: Reinstall
the cartridge into your printer, making sure to run the head cleaning
utility before printing.
