How To Connect HP Deskjet Printer To WiFi

There are two ways to connect an HP Deskjet printer a to WiFi network:
- Connect the printer using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- Or Connect the printer using HP printer software, the HP Smart app
Connect the HP Deskjet printer to wifi, using WPS
Follow these steps to connect your printer to your wireless network with the WPS button on the router.
Step 1 - Turn on the printer.
Step 2 - On the printer panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Power button at the same time for 3 seconds or until the light starts blinking.
Step 3 - On the router, press the WPS button.
Mind that the printer searches for a WPS connection for 2 minutes after the WiFi button on the printer is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button on the router within 2 minutes, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the WiFi light on the control panel turns on solid.
Connect the HP Deskjet printer to Wifi, using the HP Smart app
Use the HP Smart app to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network from your computer, with Windows 10 or macOS, or an Android or Apple mobile device.
When your operating system is Windows 10:
Step 1 - Turn on the printer.
Step 2 - On your computer, download and install HP Smart from the Microsoft store.
Step 3 - On the printer panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds or until the light starts blinking.
Step 4 - On your computer, open HP Smart, and click the Plus sign. - HP Smart then searches for printers on your wireless network -
Step 5 - Select your printer, and then click "Continue".
Step 6 - When prompted, type the WEP- or WPA-key (network password).
You can usually find it on your router.
If it's not there, then use HP's support info.
Step 7 - After the printer connects to your wireless network, click "Continue", and then click "Exit Setup".
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the WiFi light on the control panel turns on solid.
When your operating system is macOS:
Step 1 - Turn on the printer.
Step 2 - On your computer, download and install HP Smart from the App Store.

When you use an Android device:
Step 1 - Turn on the printer.
Step 2 - On your Android device, set Bluetooth "on".
Step 3 - Download and install HP Smart from hp.com.
Step 4 - On the printer panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds or until the light starts blinking.
Step 4 - On your Android device, open HP Smart, and tap the Plus sign.
Step 5 - Tap "Add your printer" - You'll see a list of printers -
Step 6 - Tap your printer. (HP=Setup
Step 7 - When prompted, type the WEP- or WPA-key (network password).
Step 8 - After the printer connects to your WiFi network, you may skip the remaining screens to complete the setup. The WiFi light on the printer's panel turns on solid.

When you use an iOS mobile device:
Step 1 - Turn on the printer.
Step 2 - On your iOS device, set Bluetooth "on".
Step 3 - Download and install HP Smart from the App Store.
